How to Navigate Your "Taking on the B.E.S.T Membership"
to Access Your Math Resources
If you’re wondering, “Where do I even start inside my membership?” — you are not alone! I’ve got you covered with this step-by-step guide (plus a helpful video walk-through - see above) to walk you through how to confidently navigate everything in your Taking on the B.E.S.T. membership at McCarthyMathAcademy.com.
Step 1: Log in and Choose a Benchmark
A - Click on “Members Enter Here” at the top of the website.
B - Select “Taking on the B.E.S.T.
C - Choose your grade level. You’ll only be able to access the grade level(s) you signed up for.
D - Florida’s B.E.S.T. Math Standards are organized into six strands:
  • NSO – Number Sense & Operations
  • AR – Algebraic Reasoning
  • FR – Fractions
  • M – Measurement
  • GR – Geometry & Reasoning
  • DP – Data & Probability
Click on any strand you'd like to explore.
E - Once you're inside a strand, you’ll see all the benchmarks listed out. Click on the math benchmark you're working on in class—or getting ready to teach.
Step 2: ​🥉 Bronze, 🥈 Silver, 🥇 Gold: 
Once you open a benchmark page, here’s how it’s organized:
  • 🥉 Selecting a Benchmark Automatically Opens to the Bronze Tier:
    • Engaging video lessons that teach the concept
    • Printable student guides that go along with each video
  • 🥈 Silver Tier (Scroll Down to the Bottom): 
    • Extra practice pages
    • Math tasks
    • Math Misconception Mystery videos (these are a favorite!)
    • Answer keys for everything
  • 🥇 Gold Tier (Scroll Down to the Bottom): 
    • Mini-assessments + answer keys
    • Breaking Down the B.E.S.T. videos (I walk you through how I break down each benchmark to plan instruction)
    • Access to McCarthy Math 1-5-5 — 155 videos per grade level
      ⚠️ These were originally created for Common Core, so be sure the videos align with the Florida B.E.S.T. benchmark you're teaching.
    • Taking on the FAST — A 15-day countdown to help students review and prepare for the final FAST Math assessment (PM3).
